Laura Hochmond
Large-scale work, drawn freehand on the skin.
The work
Drawn on the body, not on paper
No stencil. The design goes straight onto the skin, so the lines follow your anatomy instead of fighting it.
That is what large pieces need — sleeves, back pieces, whole sections of the body. I learned it the slow way, on friends who had never been tattooed before, one full sleeve at a time.

About
How I got here
I have drawn for as long as I can remember. Tattooing came later, through the street art scene — someone nearby bought a machine, and that was that.
No mentor, no apprenticeship in the classical sense. I learned at guest spots, at conventions, and from the people I met on the way. Small graphic pieces at first. Calligraphy brought the flowing forms, travelling brought the rest. Now I work on whole body concepts.
The studio
Atelier Hochmond
A private studio in the fifth district, closer to a living room than a shop: plants, pictures on every wall, nobody passing through.
I opened it to have somewhere quiet to work. Now and then I invite guest artists. Hygiene is handled strictly, and I stay reachable once your appointment is over.
Waiting list
The books are closed at the moment.
The next round opens towards the end of the year. Leave your idea here and I will come back to you when it does — no obligation on either side.
Or simply write to laura.hochmond@gmail.com. Consultations and tattooing, Tuesday to Friday.
FAQ
Before you write
What does freehand mean?
I draw the design straight onto your skin instead of transferring a stencil, so it follows your anatomy. Motif, placement and direction we settle beforehand. What is improvised is the execution, not the idea.
How does a consultation work?
In person at the studio or by email. We go through the design, the placement, the size and any colour, and I estimate the price for the whole project. To hold a date I ask for a deposit of €50 to €100, depending on the scope.
What does it cost?
€170 an hour, and €170 is also the minimum for a booking. Large projects are better as a full day: around six hours of tattooing for €1,000. Very large drawings carry a €100 drawing fee.
The final price follows the work actually involved, so it cannot be fixed to the euro in advance. Everything is set out in the terms and conditions.
I need to move my appointment.
Up to two days beforehand the deposit is credited. In case of illness, with a doctor's note. Otherwise it covers the drawing work already done.
Are touch-ups included?
Yes, one appointment where it is needed, to be taken within six months. After that it is charged by the time it takes.
Is there anything that would stop us?
You need to be eighteen and bring photo ID. I do not tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, and not with haemophilia, immunodeficiency or other serious illness. No political motifs.
